Nummenlinna small group home

Nummenlinna small group home is located in the idyllic village of Kellokoski, on the border of Tuusula and Järvenpää. Kellokoski has a comprehensive school and an upper secondary school, and the proximity of Järvenpää (5 km) makes it easy to travel to upper secondary vocational studies or to preparatory studies. We have worked together with the Kellokoski school for fifteen years and we are grateful for the commitment the school has shown to our children's schooling.

Kellokoski offers varied opportunities for hobbies, including dance, football, ice hockey and handicrafts, as well as two beaches, and the proximity of the centre of Järvenpää also offers a wide range of activities. Our small group home is easy to reach by public transport, such as train or bus.

The small group home operates in a house built in 1990. The premises are spread over three floors, each of which offers the possibility of privacy in addition to the bedrooms. Particular attention has been paid to the comfort, homeliness and child-friendliness of the premises. The facilities allow for both privacy and community, and support both everyday life and hobbies.

The small group home is surrounded by a large, sheltered yard bordering a field, offering children varied things to do and plenty of space to play. The yard includes a large artificial turf pitch with goals, a trampoline, a pergola for barbecuing and spending time, and a greenhouse.

On arriving at the small group home, and during the placement, the child may decorate their room to their liking. What matters is that the child is comfortable in their room and feels at home and safe there.

The unit manager of Nummenlinna small group home is Alisa Silver (Bachelor of Social Services), who is responsible for ensuring that the unit's operations meet the requirements set for them and who acts as the immediate supervisor of the unit's staff. In addition to her, the small group home employs instructors with Bachelor of Social Services, practical nurse, and youth and leisure qualifications, as well as a nurse responsible for the unit's medication care. The company's operations are the responsibility of Annamari Jansen (social worker, MSocSc) and Bart Jansen (Bachelor of Social Services).
