Sofianna small group home

Sofianna small group home is located in a quiet and pleasant residential area close to the centre of Järvenpää, within easy reach of good transport connections. Thanks to its central location, all services and schools are within walking distance. Our small group home is located opposite the Harjula school, which means a safe and short journey to school for younger pupils. The proximity of Järvenpää railway station also makes it easy for a young person to travel to upper secondary schools further away when needed.

We operate in a cosy, fully renovated detached house, where both floors offer space for spending time together, for example playing billiards or table tennis. The children have spacious rooms, which are decorated to their liking together with the child. The plot borders Eino Leino park and the location is peaceful. The large, sheltered yard offers all kinds of things to do: bouncing on the trampoline, playing football, barbecuing, discovering the secrets of greenhouse growing, doing up projects, or simply spending time together or alone.

The unit manager of Sofianna small group home is Heidi Lahti (Bachelor of Social Services). Heidi is currently also studying for a Master of Social Services degree. Heidi is responsible for ensuring that the unit's operations meet the requirements set for them and acts as the immediate supervisor of the unit's staff. In addition to her, the small group home employs instructors with Bachelor of Social Services, practical nurse, and youth and leisure qualifications, as well as a nurse responsible for the unit's medication care. The company's operations are the responsibility of Annamari Jansen (social worker, MSocSc) and Bart Jansen (Bachelor of Social Services).
